The Aliyu Bello charity educational foundation has paid the registration fees for 300 students that will sit for 2021/2022 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and National Examination Council (NECO) examination in Nasarawa state.
Chairman and founder of the foundation, Hon. Aliyu Bello, disclosed this during the ceremony with the beneficiaries on Saturday, in Lafia.
He explained that 200 students were paid for Unified Matriculation Tertiary Examination (UMTE) while 100 students were paid to sit for NECO examination, all geared towards boosting youth access to higher education.
Bello said the foundation was founded since 2015, to support the poor with their educational pursue at different capacity of learning, as well as to complement the government’s efforts to make life more comfortable for the citizenry, particularly the vulnerable.
He added that apart from making adequate impact in boosting quality education within immediate society, the foundation had also extended its assistance to the rural dwellers to uplift their living conditions.
Speaking at the event, Nasarawa state governor Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by the commissioner Legal matters, Barrister Abubakar Imam, commended the gesture of Aliyu Bello said the philanthropist activities of Aliyu Bello in all multi-dimensional sector of human endeavour have been noticed across the state and beyond.
He said he was aware of the series of activities which were not limited to education sectors and will add value to human life not only in Nasarawa state but Nigeria as a whole.
He equally, called on individual and stakeholders to emulate Aliyu Bello as well as to join hands with the foundation in putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged students.
Both the state commissioner of education science and technology, Fati Sabo, and Vice Chancellor Nasarawa state University Keffi while appreciating the foundation for the good work it is doing, said before now, students were finding it difficult to pay their exam fees, but Aliyu Bello has made it easy for them and should count themselves among the lucky ones.
The Vice Chancellor pledged total commitment and support to the foundation, and assured that the university will offer admission to all qualified candidates that come through the foundation.
One of the beneficiaries, Aliyu Mohammed, said he was so grateful to Commissioner Bello for helping pay his exam fees and prayed that God will continue to bless the founder.
