Frank blasts Oyegun, others for Atiku’s defection

Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has blamed the prevalence of crass arrogance and disdain for party constitution by the leadership of the party for the defection of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary, who blasted the party national chairman, Chief John Oyegun-Odigie and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i and others that perpetrated all manners of abuses of party constitution as well as undermine interests of others in the party.
Frank said the leadership of the party should be remorseful following the resignation of the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and many others from the ruling party or risk the collapse of the ruling party.
Frank said that in as much as democratic system of government permit politicians to move from one party to other, the failure of the APC leaders at the national level was responsible for the recent massive defection from the ruling party.
In a statement Comrade Frank signed on Monday in Abuja, said that he had warn and predicted the recent development in APC, adding that “the beneficiaries of fragrance disregard to constitution of the party, impunity and silence of some leaders responsible for the misfortune befalling the APC.
“Nigerians should note one very interesting thing in the politics of Nigeria today, in the past, it is used to be that people decamp or leave the party that has lost election or that is in opposition to the party that is ruling.
“But here we are today, people are moving from the ruling party to the party in opposition. It is saddening but interesting the way politics is played out in Nigeria because here we are, people leaving the comfort zone of government and the corridors of power to the opposition party should signal danger to those leading the ruling party.”
