Fraudsters hack, issue fake NPA’s truckers e-call-up slips

Barely a fortnight after the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) introduced the electronic call-up system, the agency on Wednesday stated that suspected fraudsters have gained access into the security architecture of the system and issuing fake slips to truckers in the busy Lagos ports environment.

The NPA said it has launched an investigation to unravel the breach affirming that any plan to scuttle the orderliness occasioned by the electronic Call-Up System will not be tolerated.

The disclosure was made in a tweet posted on the official Twitter handle of the NPA, Wednesday where it confirmed that some truckers were caught with counterfeit e-call-up slips, by attempting to beat security officials stationed along the ports corridor to enforce the new electronic port haulage regime.

“We are currently investigating some cases where truck drivers were caught with counterfeit e-call up slips in order to by-pass security and officials saddled with the responsibility, but we are on top of the situation. We will beat them to their game,” it stated.
