Fresh Cholera outbreak hits Ebonyi, 22 killed

Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Chinedu Ogah,  weekend called on the Ebonyi state government to assist in eradicating cholera outbreak in inyimagu, Akuhufu, and Ochokwu communities in Ikwo local government area of the state.

The outbreak, Blueprint learnt, has claimed 22 lives.  11 persons were said to have died in Akuhufu while 6 persons, 3 adults, and 3 children died in Ochokwu communities respectively.

This is coming barely two months Akpoha community in Afikpo North LGA and Ishielu LGA witnessed the same outbreak with some deaths recorded.

Ogah made the call during the disbursement of procured drugs for the people of Inyimagu and other affected Communities in the LGA.

The lawmaker represented by Dr. okwudili Chukwu with Nnamdi Azikiwe University urged the state government and the Ministry of Health to make their contribution to eradicating cholera in most parts of Ikwo.
