From one blues end to another: Chelsea, Manchester City agree mega deal as Sterling nears medical

Chelsea have agreed a £50million deal to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.

The England winger has settled on personal terms with the Blues, agreeing a five-year contract with an option for a further 12 months.

Sterling, 27, had one year remaining on his City contract and has opted to leave the Etihad.

Chelsea are now organising a medical for the former Liverpool ace to carry out ahead of a deal that will cost an initial £47.5m with another £2.5m in add-ons.

Sterling has already spoken to new boss Thomas Tuchel and has been impressed by the German.

After his medical, Sterling could fly out to the United States to join up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour.

In joining Chelsea, he ends a seven-year affiliation with Man City.

Sterling joined in a £44m deal from Liverpool in the summer of 2015.

He made 339 appearances for City, scoring 131 goals and contributing to plenty of trophy wins.

In his time with the club, Sterling won four Premier League titles, four League Cups and an FA Cup.

Nathan Ake could follow his team-mate to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are in talks to re-sign the Dutchman, having sold him to Bournemouth in 2017.

According to The Times talks have ramped up in recent days, with Ake open to returning to West London.Advertisement

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that City want £41m for the defender.

Ake, 27, made 17 senior appearances for the Blues after coming through their academy.

He has so far made 40 for Man City, helping them win the Premier League title last term.
