The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Thursday launched its fourth training institute, with the corps commending Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Delta state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for their support towards the realisation of its  its dreams.

FRSC Corps Marshal Dr Boboye Oyeyemi stated this at the commissioning of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Inspectorate Training Institution, Owa-Alero, Delta state.

The edifice completely built and furnished by the Delta state government, was commissioned by Vice President Osinbajo.

Speaking at the unveiling, Boboye said: “Your Excellency, let me humbly place on record that this new institution has been built and furnished by the Delta State Government under the revered Leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. The Corps is indeed very amazed at this unparallel commitment to supporting the development of Road Safety in Nigeria. Today, the Management of the Corps is here to receive this aesthetic citadel of learning with the greatest joy on this historic occasion.

“I must acknowledge that this event will escalate the determination of the Corps to prioritize manpower development as an instrument of excellence and performance. The Corps now has 4 training institutions: The FRSC Command and Staff College, Ibadan (Presently operating from Udi, Enugu State); The FRSC Academy, Udi, Enugu State; The FRSC Inspectorate Training Institution, Owa-Alero, Delta State and The FRSC Road Marshal Assistant Training School, Jos (soon relocating to Shendam) Plateau State. In all the infrastructural developments of these institutions, the Corps has enjoyed tremendous support from the domicile states.”

While thanking the VP for his support, he said “the Corps acknowledges your passionate support for road safety in Nigeria. As the Chairman of the National Road Safety Advisory Council (NaRSAC), your guidance and support certainly propelled the approval of Nigerian Road Safety Strategy II, 2021 – 2030 by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in December, 2020. The Road Safety strategy is developed to strengthen intergovernmental partnership on road traffic management. This event exemplifies the strong bond and philosophy of the National Road Safety Partnership which the NRSS regularly activates as one of the instruments for its implementation.”

The FRSC boss further said: “The commissioning of FRSC Inspectorate Training School marks an important milestone in our effort towards making Nigerian roads one of the safest in the world, and it is also of great significance not only in positioning the Corps to effectively tackle traffic situations in Nigeria for improved road transportation, but also in producing a generation of personnel with high level of professionalism and discipline.”
