FUAM SUG provides succour to indigent students

The Student Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM), has reportedly disbursed N300, 000 to support 53 indigent students.
According to reports, the 53 students received the scholarship at the maiden SUG Scholarship Disbursement event.
Speaking during the event, the union president, David Pine said that the scholarship scheme was designed to support brilliant but indigent students in the university.
The vice chancellor of the institution, Prof A.R.
Kimbir, who was represented by Dr Mark Time, applauded the student union for their initiative while urging the beneficiaries to use the grant for academic purposes in order to justify their selection for the scheme.
However, note that the FUAM is one of the special universities banned by the federal government from offering Law and Accounting.
In January 2017, the federal government issued a directive forbidding 13 universities from offering Law and Accounting courses.
