Fulani group commends Abdulsalami’s peace initiative

A Fulani initiative for peace and orientation, Miyetti Allah Wallidira,

has commended the peace initiatives of former president, Gen.

Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Its national chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Musa Ardo, gave the commendation in Abuja Friday.

Ardo said leaders like Abubakar and other stakeholders that took their time to serve the country in order to find solutions for peace should not be overlooked, addingg that their decisions would bring lasting peace to the country.

“Government should listen to those former presidents, retired generals, former diplomats, traditional rulers, professors, stakeholders and various organisations that attended the peace meeting as they are so patriotic in finding solutions to the security challenges in the country,” he said.

Ardo called on the Fulani to cooperate with the government, especially on the livestock development programme, urging them to key into the programme.

“I am appealing to our people to come out enmasse to get involved in the livestock programme of the government as it will bring big

opportunities to us. Also, the federal government’s decision to ban milk and other dairy products will help our people in the production of milk for the country to consume,” he said.

The Fulani leader further said “peace can be achieved only when the Fulani come together as one to shame the enemies that are using their names to do evil things.”

“Those who want to criminalise our people and want to generalise criminality will never succeed in the country because we are peace-

loving and we are for peace always.”
