Gaidam approves N3.72bn for LG projects

Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has approved the sum of N3, 723, 897,614.40 for the execution of various social development projects in the 17 local government areas of the state.
Director-General on Press Affairs to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego, disclosed this in a statement made available to Blueprint, yesterday.
The projects to be executed under the local government action plan are in the areas of primary education, healthcare, water supply, power supply, agriculture among others.
“The local government councils have been mobilised with the funds needed to begin implementation, following checks and betting by the State Bureau for Public Procurement,” the statement read in part.
Blueprint gathered that Yusufari local government council got the highest amount of N402,340,222.03, while Damaturu got the least of N42,982,937.51 The statement further said “the approval was granted by the governor on the basis of the capacity of each of the local government councils.”
