Civil servants in Yobe are now smiling as the state government fulfilled its promise by releasing N300 million furniture loan to workers at the weekend. Blueprint gathered that the loan, which is interest-free, is expected to be repaid within 25 months.
The Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Saleh Abubakar, had in a chat with journalists, said the loan “is a revolving one and only those who have never benefi ted will be given.” Blueprint gathered that the loan is in categories with chief executive of boards and parastatal getting N1, 000, 000 each, while the least is N50, 000 for workers on grade levels 01-05. Mohammed Galadima and Umar Saleh, both benefi ciaries, thanked the state government for the welfare package and promised to rededicate themselves to duty to reciprocate the gesture.
