Gaidam signs N91.6b 2019 budget into law

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has signed the 2019
Appropriation bills into law having been presented and passed by the
State House of Assembly as contained in the provision of section 121
(1) (2) of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria.

The occasion which took place on Tuesday at Government House
Damaturu, witnessed the governor saying “there were little adjustments made by the State House of Assembly but the earlier figure of N91,647,597,000.00 submitted remains unchanged.

“The net allocation to finance the capital programmes is now
N41,376,630,000 or 45.2%, while the sum of N50,268,967,000 or 54.8% is
earmarked to cover recurrent services”.

“Our overall budget performance for both recurrent and capital
expenditure from January, 2018 to 23rd November, 2018 was
N56,367,130,078.88 representing 61.1% success” he said.

Gaidam further, said that the total revenue receipt by the state
government from 1st January 2018 to 31st December, 2018 from all
sources amounted to N81,883,251,583.73 giving 89% of projected target.

He also informed the gathering that the overall budget performance for
both recurrent and capital expenditure during the said period was
N68,549,130,255.42, representing 74.4% success. It is in line with
this that, he further told the gathering the implementation of the
2019 budget will commence with an opening balance of
N13,117,944,830.00.

Earlier, the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Zanna
Machina, said the mission of the House was to promote good governance
that was why there were little adjustments but the exact amount was
retained.
