A two-term Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member representing Gwaram federal constituency, Honourable Yusuf Shitu Galambi Saturday emerged the candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in a free and fair primary elections conducted through an open ballot.
During the primary election, four aspirants had contested for the ticket of the House of representatives following the death of it’s former representative, Honourable Yuguda Hassan kila.
The aspirants includes Abdulrashid Adamu Kila , Ado Yakubu, Yusuf Shitu Galambi and Dr Haruna Mairiga among others.
Declaring the results, the returning officer of the election, Mallam Haruna Musa announced Shitu Galambi who polled 27, 934 the winner, while his closest rival Alhaji Ado Yakubu polled 3081.
Also, Dr Haruna Mairiga polled 209 votes and Abdulrashid Kila got 1,081votes. And a large attendant of voters thronged all the 11 councillors wards under the Gwaram Federal constituency.
The election which was successfully conducted without serious threat to peace was supervised by the party’s officials and the state resident electoral commissioner, Independent electoral commission Dr Mahmud Isah.
