‘Ganduje, most peopleoriented governor’

Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has been described as the “most vibrant and peopleoriented governor” in the country, “whose leadership qualities manifest through the many infrastructure development initiatives of his administration.” The remark was contained in a letter of appreciation sent to the governor, for flagging-off of the Dangi Roundabout Interchange Flyover and Underpass, by an amalgamation of road users from the 44 local governments, under the platform of Friends of Road Initiative. The letter read in part: “The project is in Tarauni local government, and after all in our state, we are from Kano, which also places us to be part of those that are grateful to the governor for approving the project and flagging it off .”

The letter was signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Nasidi Abdullahi Danlami, who noted that “we are privy to the information that the member of the Kano state House of Assembly, Abubakar Zakari, representing Tarauni, raised a motion for the need to have this project. As such we commend him for that.” “After he raised the motion,” the letter added, “he got support from other members during plenary, like the member representing Minjibir, who first seconded the motion, then followed by Kumbotso, Dawakin Tofa, Kunchi, Tsanyawa and then followed by other members.” The letter described Ganduje thus; he “…is such kind of leader who always accepts and act on matters that matter most to their people. Our dear governor is ready to always trickle down development to his people, down the ladder.”

“We are very much aware that this gigantic project was included in the supplementary budget of 2017. A week after the motion was raised and passed for the necessity of the project, a supplementary budget was going to the state Assembly and to the surprise of all, the project was included very clearly in that budget.”
