Ganduje seeks partnership on agriculture in Saudi

Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has led a delegation to a follow-up meeting on the implementation of Kano state Integrated Agriculture and Water Resources Development Project at the headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at the meeting, Ganduje said the visit is to resuscitate action on the Water Project which has been on hold by the board, adding that the two projects have been approved by both the national assembly and the Federal Executive Council.

In a press statement, the governor also promised that Kano State Government will complete all the deliverables regarding the project in the next two weeks, so that the project will start immediately.

Ganduje who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna   expressed appreciation to the bank for the partnership which he says will reduce poverty in the state through the agro pastoral development project and water supply to the rural populace.

Responding, the Vice-president Operations of the Islamic Development Bank Dr.Mansur Muktar assures of continued cooperation and support to the Kano State Government.

The Kano State delegation comprises of commissioner of Water Resources Engr Usman Sule Riruwai, Managing Directors of the Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Agency Prof.Mahmud Daneji and that of Rural Water Sanitation Agency Alh.Yahaya G/Ali and Engr. Shehu Ibrahim Lajawa,Chairman of the Project Technical Committee.
