Ganduje tasks Kano pilgrims on good conduct

Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has urged the intending Pilgrims from the state to be law abiding while they are at Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj exercise.

The Governor made this call Thursday during a practical demonstration programme on Hajj activities organised for the state intending Pilgrims, held at Kano Hajj Camp.

Ganduje who was represented by his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said as good ambassadors of the state and the country in general, the intending Pilgrims are expected to shun any act that could tarnish the good image of the state.

“Pilgrims from Kano are always known for their good conduct right before their departure to Saudi Arabia, when they are in Saudi Arabia and up to the time they resumed back to Nigeria. This is why in the year 2019; Kano State has been awarded by the Saudi Government through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for being the best in Hajj performance, “he explained.

He said that the present administration had provided all that is required by the State Pilgrims Warfare Board to ensure a hitch free Hajj exercise, stressing that this has been the bedrock of all the successes recorded in the previous Hajj operations.

“Even yesterday, the Chairman National Hajj Commission of Nigeria Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar was in Kano for official visit where he publicly justified how the present administration excelled in according the needed attention to the welfare of its Pilgrims.

 “More professional personnel on health, information and security have been provided to be part of the Staff who will follow you and be assisting you while in Saudi Arabia”

He further disclosed that the State had also assigned group of competent Ulamas who are saddled with responsibilities of guiding and enlightening the Pilgrims on issues of concerned while performing their Hajj obligations.

Speaking earlier,  the Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Muhammad Abba Dambatta, explained that after the successful completion of the 2018 Hajj exercise, the board had conducted series of meeting to review achievements recorded or otherwise.
