Garba Lawal mourns late coach Lato

Kaduna United FC’s general manager, Garba Lawal, has described the sudden demise of the club’s head coach, Saleh Lato, as shocking even as he described the late gaffer as one who gave his all for the Kaduna-based team.
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Kaduna United, was on Sunday evening thrown into mourning following the sudden loss of coach Lato coupled with their 0-1 loss to Crown FC on the same day.

Reacting to his death while speaking to Blueprint Sport in a telephone conversation, Lawal disclosed that at the moment no decision has been taken either by the club or Kaduna state Government on the next line of action.
The deceased has since been buried in line with Islamic rites.

Lawal added: “Late coach Lato did his best while he was alive for the club. It is unfortunate he died at this point in time. Death is what awaits every soul and we can question God. He is the only one who can explain everything.
“Life continues because as it is there nothing we can do to reverse what has happened. The club is still on break right now after Sunday’s game against Crown FC of Osogbo.

The experienced gaffer was said to have died at the Ibrahim Sanni Abacha Hospital, Kaduna, after just a day of illness.
Lato will always by remember by Kaduna United faithful as he was part of the technical crew that won the 2010 Federation Cup, beating Enyimba 3-2.
He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
