Ghana resume training ahead 2023 CHAN tourney

Ahead of the 2024 Championship of the African Nations (CHAN) head coach of the Galaxies of Ghana Annor Walker has invited 40 players to camp.

The Ghanaian team defeated Nigeria’s Super Eagles B in the qualifier via a penalty shootout after both legs tied on a 2-2 aggregate.

The players are to begin preparation for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament slated for Algeria in January next year on Sunday, November 27.

Ghana has been pitted in Group C alongside defending champions Morocco, Madagascar, and Sudan.

The tournament kicks off from January 13-4 February 2022.

The 7th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) will be held from January 13 to February 4, 2023, in Algeria.

After the draw ceremony held at the Algiers Opera on October 1, 2022, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the competition schedule.

The opening match will oppose the host country, Algeria to the Libyan selection, on January 13, 2023, at 5 p.m., at the Baraki stadium; with a capacity of 40,784 covered places, located southeast of Algiers.

Three other sports venues have been selected for the competition.

These include the Miloud Hadefi stadium in Oran, with a capacity of 40,143 seats, the Chadid Hamlaoui stadium in Constantine, also called the 17 June stadium, with a capacity of 22,986 seats and finally, the 19 May 1956.

Located in the east of Algeria, it is considered the second largest stadium in the country, with a capacity of 56,000 seats.
