Girl Pro Nigeria graduates 9 Girls for mentorship program across Nigeria

Girl Pro Development Initiative, has graduated nine girls from it mentorship programme to aid their professional growth, gain access to opportunities, cultivate their confidence and help them reach their full leadership potentials.

The ‘cohort’ includes girls from the University of Benin, Nsuka, Lagos, Ibadan, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi and Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

During the virtual mentorship graduation ceremony, a Gender Equity and Empowerment specialist Faith Solomon said, mentorship for women cannot be overemphasised noting that if women who have risen to the top of the ladder in their career serve as mentors to other women, it will aid their professional growth as the women would also be able to reach their full potentials.

She told the cohorts that they have undergone mentorship ànd it would help them grow in their chosen career.

According to her, “it is important to have a plan, work hard at it, build skills through learning program and achieve a bid of stability in their career to help others.”

Also, a mentor, Eghosa Gbadegesin, explained that the task was to mentor each girls for three months and build their capacity to equip them for the future.

The founder of the initiative, Nihilola Ayanda, explained that out of 57 applicants about 9 girls went through the mentorship training aimed at churning out intelligent, excellent next generation of women leaders to become professionals in the different skills.
