Give gratitude amidst adversity, cleric tasks Christians

Pastor Kolade Omotayo of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Firm Foundation, Akure, has enjoined Christian faithful to often show gratitude even in the midst of difficulties.

Omotayo said this during a sermon titled: “Wonders of Gratitude’’.

The cleric read from Psalm 103, verses 1-5 and noted that some Christians had taken for granted God’s benefits for them.

He said giving thanks to God always is a command and it is optional.

“If we read Psalm 107, verse 8, it is an instruction, a command and a necessity that we must give God our praises all the time.

“Whatever challenge we may find ourselves, in the middle of it, praise the Lord because there is still hope for a tree that is being cut off,’’ he said.

The pastor enumerated three areas of gratitude to God: What He has done, what He is doing and what He will do.

Omotayo tasked Christians to appreciate God through their deep emotion and with their songs, dances and clapping.
