Giwa LG nullifies suspension of Vice Chairman Zubairu Alhassan

Giwa local government of Kaduna state has nullified the suspension of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Zubairu Alhassan Zico, following the intervention of leaders and chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The Speaker of Giwa local government council’s parliament, Hon. Abdullahi Ismail had announced a six-month suspension of the Vice Chairman last month.

The suspension was to give room for investigations into allegations levelled against him, which included alleged lack of respect to the local authority, disclosing official government secret and betrayal of trust.

However, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Zubairu Alhassan had denied the allegations, saying that he was not even aware of being suspended.

But the Giwa local government council Speaker and Councillor representing Kidandan Ward, Hon. Abdullahi Ismail announced the lifting of the six months’ suspension after the Council’s sitting.

He explained that the Vice Chairman can now assume his office and continue his affairs as the Vice Chairman of Giwa local government, and deputy to the Chairman, Abubakar Shehu Giwa.
