Giwa, Pillars grind out 1 – 1 draw

A spectacular performance by Giwa United FC’s midfield players with a tip-tap passes, and a balanced possession from both sides gave the fans the expected quality of play, as Kano Pillars held out a 1 – 1 draw at the Jos Rwang Pam Township, Jos, in the ongoing GLO Premier League.

A superb pull-out from the right flag by Dee nee Muhammad found Agoha Chinenye who netted the ball for Giwa FC on 22 minutes.
The visitors fought back desperately for the leveler but solo run by Rabiu Ali yielded no fruit, ending the half with a lone goal advantage for the home boys.

Pillars returned for the second stanza and continued where they stopped. Their persistence produced the parity in the 59th minute from a glancing header by Kabiru Umar.
Centre referee, Umuago Paul, showed Pillars’ Kabiru Umar in the 90th minute. But it was a little too late for the hosts to cash in on the advantage within the two minutes added time as the visitors tightened up their defence.
