GOGAN Sues for Calm over election postponement

National Chairman of Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN) Chief Felix Idiga has urged members of his organisation to be calm over the postponement of the presidential and National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commissions (INEC).

In a press statement issued on Sunday, Idiga said that he has urged his over 19 million members to calm down over the postponed election as they are peace loving and law abiding Nigerians. He further urged them to continue to keep faith with President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria and INEC.

“As law abiding citizens, I urge you to remain calm and accept the postponement of the February 16th presidential and national assembly election with equanimity. Let us accept the reasons adduced by the INEC as the best option available to it and in the national interest. I urge you to continue to keep faith with President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria and INEC.’’

He also asked them to continue with their door-to-door campaign until Buhari and all APC candidates at all levels are elected.

He said that his group has the capacity to deliver Buhari insisting that the president means well and will certainly take the country to the next level if re-elected. He encouraged his members not to be discouraged by the attempts of enemies to truncate democracy even as he assured of positive result at the end of the day.

“I charge our members across the length and breadth of the country to continue with the door-to-door campaign until the president and indeed, all APC candidates at all levels of election are elected. We have the capacity to deliver the president with our style of campaign and mobilization. We have the strength and we must stay focused until success is achieved. We are also convinced that President Buhari is a committed leader who walks his talk. There is no doubt that he will take Nigeria to the next level when and if re-elected,’’ he said.
