Gombe: APC govt has nothing to celebrate – Kera

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe state, Mallam Dahiru Hassan Kera, has said there is nothing for the Inuwa Yahaya administration to celebrate, adding that the state has been dragged backwards.

Kera, who was special assistant on media and publicity to former Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, stated this Friday, in an interview with our correspondent.

He said; “People are the judges themselves. You can find out from residents of the state, many of them are not happy with the state of affairs in the state. There is no governor that will talk about development and still frustrate tertiary institutions just because they were established by his predecessor. As we talk, one of the five state-owned institutions has not received salary, while the remaining four institutions received salaries without overhead.

“We have recently had the name of the state soiled in the eyes of the public over the he poor handling of isolation centres. Water supply has become epileptic.

“Technically, the dam was constructed by the Dankwambo administration to serve a particular population and there is no way water supply can be improved without dam expansion. This government should have increased the capacity of the dam instead of mouthing reticulation.

“As stakeholders, we are disappointed. They have moved the state backwards. The state is managed as personal enterprise. And I tell you, PDP will soon return to reposition the state to its glorious past.”

Kera said the recent law passed by the state assembly, creating joint development project agency where the governor will the chairman, is akin to the abolished joint account which is one of the biggest scams by the administration.
