Gombe Christian pilgrims board advocates self-sponsorship

Gombe state executive secretary, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB), Mr. Karu Ishaya, has stated the need for self sponsorship of the Christian holy pilgrimage to Israel.

He stated this while briefing newsmen in Gombe on preparations for 2020 Christian pilgrimage to Israel.

“I want to encourage the spirited individuals among the Christian faithful to sponsor themselves and others who cannot afford to pay.

“This is a spiritual fulfillment that when you go, you renew your spiritual life. Therefore, if you have the means, no need to wait for government sponsorship.

“I want those that have been to the holy land, to share the experiences they had with others, to serve as a source of encouragement,” he said.

He also called on Churches to sponsor the less privileged for spiritual revival.

The executive secretary further said that the package for 2020 Christian pilgrimage has been released by the National Christian Pilgrimage commission (NCPC).

He said the package by NCPC wer  as follows:  N710,000 and N930,000 respectively for those who intended going to Israel and Rome.

He said those that were willing to go, should start depositing and receipts will be issued to them.

He stated that the final list of the self sponsored candidates should be at the NCPC before October 30 to enable visa procurement.
