Gombe commences payment of outstanding gratuity to retirees

Gombe state government has commenced the payment of another tranche of outstanding gratuity to retired civil servants in the state.

This follows the release of 775 million Naira by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the payment of the retirees’ benefits.

This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gombe Sunday by the director general, press affairs to the governor, Samaila Uba Misilli.

“Sequel to the governor’s directives, the committee set up to verify and ascertain the correctness of outstanding gratuity owed state retirees has concluded arrangements to commence the payment and therefore requests retired state civil servants from January to December 2015, to come forward for verification and collection of their entitlements.

“The exercise under the chairmanship of Auditor-General, Muhammad Buba, Gombe was held Monday at the Treasury Headquarters, Gombe, by 9:00 O’clock in the morning,” the statement read in part.
