Gombe: Gov Inuwa to complete 11.5 kilometre road

Gombe state Governor Alhaji Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya has promised to complete the 11.5 km Mallam Inna-Kurba-Titi-Kundulum and Arawa road awarded at N1.7 billion in 2017 and abandoned by the immediate past governor.

The Governor stated this during an inspection visit of the project located in the outskirt of the state capital, where he floored the immediate past Governor of the State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo for abandoning the project over two years after initiating it.

According to him, the road is an important project that links communities in three local government areas of Yamaltu-Deba and Akko, all within Gombe metropolis. He promised to complete it within the shortest possible time.

While appreciating the initiative of constructing the road, the Governor assured that he will mobilize Tinka Points Nigeria Limited, who was awarded the contract two years back to commence work by next week.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Saleh Miyim, said nothing whatsoever was done on the road.

He said the importance of the road which has four bridges, cannot be overemphasized as the communities on the road are very close to the town and will boost the economy of the state especially in terms of agricultural activities.
