Gombe PDP cautions Maina, declares loyalty to Atiku 

The Gombe state chapter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri, not to meddle in the affairs of the party in by sponsoring protests against the immediate past governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo.

The party also reaffirmed its loyalty to the party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, and identified with the leadership of Dankwambo.

The state publicity secretary of the PDP, Murtala Usman, while reacting to the protest by a group of youth allegedly sponsored by Waziri, who stormed the state party secretariat protesting against Dankwambo that: “Today, the PDP office was stormed by disgruntled elements sponsored by a PDP stalwart from Yobe state to blackmail our party leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, OON, PhD, (Talban Gombe) and to cause disaffection and chaos within the party.

“The sponsor, who contested elections many times in Yobe state and could not win any, is a well-known sell-out candidate and a political merchant.

“He should go and concern himself with the political crisis bedeviling Yobe state and be warned to stop undue interference in the political affairs of Gombe state.” the statement reads.
