Gombe Police arrest 5 with fake dollars

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a syndicate of five suspected of dealing in fake dollars.
The five suspects were caught with 60 pieces of counterfeit one hundred United States dollars.
In a press statement signed by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr.
Shina Olukolu said Dani Abdullahi aged 32 years of Tsamiyar Boka Hotoro, Kano state, Abubakar Ibrahim 36 years and Mustafa and Mustafa Ibrahim 28 years were arrested by operatives of the Police X- Squad with 60 pieces of counterfeit one hundred US dollars notes.
The statement added that Umar Bello, 41 years of Arawa quarters Gombe and Adamu Abdullahi of Bye Pass Gombe were arrested by operatives of the Police State Intelligence Bureau of the Command for defrauding one Tanimu Ahmed Idris from Agege, Lagos State.
Mr. Olukolu advised intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and the general public to desist from sourcing or buying their dollar dominated currency needs from unauthorized persons or places, particularly those being offered at ridiculous rate as opposed to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) rates.
While promising to continue to combat crime and criminalities, the Commissioner of Police enjoined all peace loving people of Gombe state to continue to partner, collaborate and assist the police with genuine and useful information in the bid to serve the society better.
