Gombe: Recovery committee summons Dankwambo, aides to account for govt assets

Committee set up by Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya to recover government properties allegedly disposed illegally by immediate past administration has summoned the former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, and his aides to appear before it.

Chairman of the committee, Group Capt. Peter Bilal (rtd), who stated this while briefing newsmen on the activities of the committee on Saturday in Gombe said if Dankwambo and his aides failed to appear, before the committee, legal actions would be taken to recover government assets under their custody without due process.

He said the committee has called on Dankwambo, Muhammad Hassan Commissioner of Finance, Aide Decamp SP Musa Hamman, Dr. Sani Jauro Principal Permanent Secretary (PPS) and Chief of Staff Ahmed Yayari, to respond to the directive.

The committee also called on former security adviser to the former governor to appear before it and surrender government property in their possession with without further delay.

According to him, the committee had already recovered some property surrendered willingly by those who possessed them.

He said the recovered property included land, vehicles, among other things.
