Gombe tasks health managers on improved maternal, child care

The Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr.
Ahmed Fans, has urged managers of Health Care facilities to work toward improving maternal and child care in the state.
The executive secretary who was represented by the Director, Primary health care, Mohammed Kilo Bajoga, made the called while speaking during the signing of purchase contract between the Agency and Nigeria Health Investment Project (N-SHIP) performance, based financing (PBF), yesterday in Gombe.
He also advised managers of the selected health facilities in the state to discharge their duties in line with the international standards, in order to achieve desired results.
Dr. Gana said performance Base financing is a world bank assisted project, aimed at improving the quality of maternal child care through health care intervention to clinics and hospital at local government levels.
“The program started in Gombe local government area as a pilot project incorporated three additional local government areas namely Dukku, Balanga and Yamltu/Deba.
“Performance Base financing set guidelines according to international standard in view of that managers of the health care facilities who have undergone series of training by N-SHIP/ PBF are expected to discharge their duties according to PBF approach in order to achieve the desired results.
