Gombe to spend over N4bn on road construction

Gombe state government is to spend over N4billion for the completion of some ongoing roads projects as well as construction of new ones across the state.

The state Commissioner of Information, Mr. Alhassan Ibrahim Kwami, stated this while speaking with journalists in Gombe.

He said the executive council had reviewed some ongoing road projects at Jakadafari area of Doma District in the Gombe local government area of the state.

“The council has approved the sum of over N4 billion for the completion of some ongoing roads projects as well as the construction of new ones across the state.

“The council presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had approved the sum of N1.9 billion for the completion of ongoing road projects in Jekadafari, as well as constructions of new roads in Jankai and Checheniya  axis in Gombe metropolis.”

He said this is in addition to other road networks to be executed within and outside the Gombe metropolis.

The Commissioner also said the state government has dissolved the 6 state tertiary institutions’ governing council, explaining that the state government will make further pronouncement on the formation of new governing councils in the state’s various tertiary institutions.
