Youth in Gombe state have commended the Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, for helping the less privileged in the state to acquire western education at various levels.
The youth leader, Sani Abubakar, who made the commendation in Gombe Friday, said the youth appreciated Gwamna’s interventions, especially in educational development, by sponsoring less privileged indigenes to study in various schools both in Nigeria and abroad.
He said, “I must sincerely on behalf of the youths in the state appreciate Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna for his tireless contribution towards the development of education in Gombe state, especially in the area of scholarship to the less privileged sons and daughters of the state.
“Though, his giant strides are usually devoid of media hype but I feel the society needs to encourage him and call other well to do individuals to emulate the gesture for our society to develop ad well as enable the children of the have-not to go to schools like their privileged counterparts.
“As at now, Dr. Jamilu has enrolled 30 less privileged indigenes of Gombe state into the famous Yamusa Academy in Kebbi state. He recently sent 10 students to study different courses at various schools in Morocco and these are few gestures out of his numerously silent contribution to the development of the state.”
