Gomo of Kuje lauds group on roundabout construction

The Gomo of Kuje, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Haruna Tanko Jibrin, has commended Techman Union Workers Association on the construction of the Gede-Gomo palace road roundabout Kuje.

The royal father made the commendation during the foundation laying ceremony of the project over the weekend in Kuje, FCT, Abuja.

He commended the laudable initiative of the union for adding colour to the area council, saying the initiative was one landmark that could not be forgotten in the history of the area council.

Alhaji Jibrin said Kuje has a history that dates back to 1760 and that he is the 16th leader of the community. He explained that since its founding centuries ago, Kuje has been nursing the ambition to be attracted with such projects, stressing that “we have course to celebrate this historic occasion and development in Kuje.”

The royal father pointed out that development and progress of any society is not a one man show, saying all hands must be on the deck to assist government take the growth and development of the area council to the next level.

“As a conscious effort, I’m calling on the people to contribute their quota for the development of Kuje community because development is a collective effort that shouldn’t be left in the hands of government alone,” he said.

Speaking to Blueprint  during the ceremony, chairman of Techman Workers Union Association, Kuje, Mr. Nurudeen Danjuma said the initiative was to add value the good works the chairman of Kuje area council, Alhaji Abdullahi Sabo has attracted to the area.

He commended  chairman for doing so much to uplift the living conditions of the people, “stressing that, the union is committed to the development of Kuje area council and FCT in particular.”

Nurudeen called on organisations and individuals to emulate this gesture and assist where necessary in order to attract more positive developments to the area.
