Gov Badaru says 2019 elections most peaceful





Jigawa state governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has said that the just concluded elections in the state were the most peaceful elections ever recorded in the state.


Governnor Badaru stated this while receiving the formal report of the 2019 general elections presented by the 2019 campaign council at Manpower Development Institute, Dutse, Thursday.

The governor observed that the conduct of Jigawa state election was one of best in the country, stressing there were neither report of violence nor misconduct recorded from the beginning to the end of the elections.

He particularly praised the people for coming out en masse to exercise their franchise as well as give him a second mandate to run the affairs of the state.

“I have to thank the people of the state for giving me another mandate to govern our dear state for another four years. I appreciate everybody in the state for coming out to vote for me”, he added.

The governor observed that the election petition tribunal set up to examine petitions that may have arisen from the elections has turned empty handed without receiving any complaints from any of the party or candidates challenging the APC victory in the state.

He said the success was a clear indication that even the oppositions have agreed with the victory of the APC and leadership in state.

“The victory is testimony that the people of the state have trust in APC leadership, 75 per cent communities benefited from dividends of democracy under the APC government”, he said.
