Gov Bala shouldn’t frustrate humanitarian ministry

It’s a fact that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, under the leadership of Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, has been up and doing all over the country. On August 12, 2022, the ministry flagged-off the grant for vulnerable groups and the digitilised payment for conditional cash transfer in Dutse, Jigawa state, Akwa Ibom, Katsina etc. Why is Bauchi being denied the same programmes with the flimsy excuse of security issues while the PDP and the state government are having political gatherings?

The PDP government always tries to deny the people of Bauchi state what belongs to them. The Humanitarian Minister plans to launch a programme in which everyone is eligible to benefit regardless of party affiliation, but the state government is deliberately denying people the goodies from programme. Similar efforts were made, but they had to be diverted to another place due to the lack of cooperation of this government. Let the public know the programme is designed to provide a one-off N20,000 grant to some indigenes and vulnerable Nigerians in all the 36 states of the federation and the FCT to improve their well-being. It has no political affiliation whatsoever.

No sensible government will reject a positive impact on its people if it means well for them. Misconceptions will only make someone look down on anything beneficial. Let the people be aware that over five federal interventions are coming their way and that, indeed, more than 10,000 citizens are beneficiaries. This will no doubt have a landmark positive impact on their lives. Should this be rejected for the interests of a few self-serving people? No, it can’t work this way.

We, the people of Bauchi state, are very concerned and want the world to know that our state is very peaceful and we need these programmes for the benefit of all. Any attempt to thwart this opportunity will be unacceptable and resisted by the good people of Bauchi state.
