Gov Bello receives new Kogi police commissioner, pledges support for security agencies

Kogi state Governor Yahaya Bello has reiterated his commitment toward the protection of lives and property of the people of the state, saying security of the people remained his primary objective and top priority.

He stated this when he received the new commissioner of police, Mr Ede Ekpeji at Government House Lokoja on Tuesday.

He assured CP Ekpeji that his administration will continue to play its role to ensure that the police command and other security agencies in the state get the needed supports from the government in maintaining law and order.

Speaking, the new Commissioner of Police said he was in the governor’s office on a formal introduction and to also thank him for his supports to the security agencies in the state particularly the Nigerian Police Force.

Ekpeji specifically commended the Governor for his quick response during the recent invasion of Tawari community, noting that the governor’s proactive measures restored normalcy to the area immediately and allayed the people’s fears of further attacks.

While pledging his cooperation to the state government, the Commissioner of Police , said the police personnel under his command would work hand-in-hand with the government of Kogi state to ensure all forms of criminal activities were eliminated from the state.
