Gov Bello to create jobs through modern agribusiness

Zamfara state Governor Hon Bello Muhammad Matawalle has pledged to introduce modern agribusiness mechanism that would facilitate the creation job opportunities for youths and entire citizens of the state.

The governor made the pronouncement at the 2019 democracy day celebration in commemoration of June 12 1993 election annulment held at Zamfara Trade Fair Complex in Gusau, the state capital Wednesday.

Matawalle, who described agriculture as the bedrock in the fighting poverty, improvement of foods security and reduce redundancy, said his administration would provide simple farming tools and financial soft loans to farmers for the development of agriculture.

“My administration has approved the total rehabilitation and resuscitation of the state fertilizer blending firm which would start manufacturing assorted fertilizer for the benefit of farmers in the state within the next two weeks”.

Further, the governor said his administration, in collaboration with federal government would rehabilitate the Bakalori Dam to improve irrigation for farming activities among youths to help become self reliant.

According to him, plans are on top geared to reintroduce Zamfara state comprehensive agricultural revolution programme (ZACARE) with a view to enhance agribusiness in the state.

“We all acknowledged the fact that fighting poverty requires many approaches like revamping agriculture, resuscitating skills acquisition programmes, improving salaries of workers, creating enabling environment for start ups and small and medium scale business to thrive “, Matawalle said.

Matawalle stated that his administration would be an-inclusive government that would work with all that mean well for the state, and urged the citizens to remain united and cooperate with his administration to enable him transform the state to greater height.

Meanwhile, the deputy governor, Barrister Mahadi Aliyu, pledged to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt in all nooks and crannies of the state, describing the June 12 democracy day as the day of unity among Nigerians.
