The Managing Director, Hensek Integrated Services, Engr Uwem Okoko, has commended the Akwa Ibom state governor Mr Udom Emmanuel for engaging indigenous construction companies in handling most of the major infrastructural projects in the state.
Speaking Wednesday at the Ring Road 3 when the inspection team from the Ministry of Works visited the project, Engr Okoko assured the government of quality and timely completion of project.
He expressed appreciation to the state governor for patronizing local contractors, assuring that the completed projects handled by his company are of global standard.
Giving technical details of the Ring Road 3 project, the HENSEK boss hinted that the project is 9.5 kilometres.
He said: “The total distance of the project is 9.5 kilometres. Let me use this opportunity to tell our people that the road will be four lanes and about 60 metres wide. The project will have an underground tunnel that will collect flood water all the way from Anua Offot in Uyo to Timber Market in Ifa Ikot Okpon and terminates at the Ibesikpo canal in Ibesikpo Asutan local government area”.
He assured residents and motorist plying the road from Aka road, opposite Jonathan Boulevard to Oron Road adjacent Timber Market road in Ifa Ikot Okpon, Uyo local government area of accessing the road before the rains resumes fully.
Responding, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Elder Effiong Essien, reiterated the state government’s commitment in providing quality road networks to all communities across the state till 2023 when the tenure of Governor Emmanuel will come to an end.
