Gov. Inuwa marks Children’s Day with 153 discharged Almajirai

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Wednesday visited the quarantine centre at Amada to mark the 2020 children’s Day celebration with the 153 Almajirai who were being prepared to be reunited with their families.

Also, additional 153 Almajirai children who tested negative to coronavirus after the two weeks mandatory quarantine period at were discharge and cleared to go home.

Addressing the children, Governor Yahaya said his government is committed to prioritizing basic education through a sustained support to both western and Islamic systems of education.

He noted that nobody can manage a child better than his parents.

Governor said that the leadership of the Ulammas was involved in the structure of managing Almajirai, under Better Education Service Delivery for All in the state.

“We are taking responsibility as their parent, we won’t allow anyone to destroy the future of these children using whatever means we shall ensure they enjoy the rest of their lives,” he said.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Habu Dahiru said these set got a bill of clean health after testing negative to Coronavirus.

“After discharging these set of 153 we will be left with 13 persons in the camp comprising 11 Almajirai, and 2 travellers,”.
