Gov Ishaku urges farmer, herders to close ranks

Taraba state governor Darius Ishaku on Wednesday urged farmers and herders in the state to close rank and live peacefully with one another in the interest development of the state.

Ishaku, who stated this in Jalingo during the flags off ceremony of the distribution of fertilizers and other farm inputs for 2019 farming season said sons and daughters of the state  must unite together to move Taraba state forward.

“They is no any other alternative to peace. We must give Peace a chance to enable us move forward” he said.

He explained that youths in the state must engage in agro-business in order to eradicate poverty amongst people of the state and foster unity and peaceful coexistence.

He said his administration since assumption of office in 2015 has deemed it necessary to give the desired attention to agriculture.

“I decided to give attention to agriculture because it is the major source of income of the majority of the people of the state.

Since inception of this administration, assorted fertilizers and other farm inputs, including farm machineries have always been provided to our esteem farmers at the beginning of each cropping season.

This gesture has helped greatly toward improving agriculture in the state” he maintained.

He stressed that this effort would not only boost agriculture in the state but create wealth to the people and left up the standard of living all farmers in the state.
