All Progressives Congress Gombe state governorship candidate Alhaji Mohammad Inuwa Yahya in Saturday’s governorship election has won in 7 out of 8 local government areas so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
From the results announced so far by the Returning Officers from the 8 local government areas APC candidates leads his closest challenger, Senator Usman Bayaro Nafada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In Gombe local government rea, the APC candidate polled 68384 votes to defeat his closest rival of the PDP who polled 21673 votes. In Shongom local government area, the APC got 13463 votes while the PDP got 12,993 votes. In Kaltungo local government area APC polled 26,744 votes and PDP got 22254 votes.
Similarly, in Yamaltu/Deba local government area, APC had 51521 while PDP 25, 852 votes.
Also in Kwami local government, All Progressives Congress got 30539 votes while PDP polled 18240 votes, in Billiri local government APC had 18612 and People Democratic Party candidate got 18063, in Funakaye local government area, PDP polled 20020 votes while APC got 29,191.
However, the PDP candidate Usman Bayaro Nafada won his own local government Nafada where he polled 17937 and APC‘s Inuwa got 9018.
The remain three local government areas namely Dukku, Balanga and Akko would be come by 4:00pm
