Gov Sule distributes of 3,960 metric tonnes fertilizer to farmers in Nasarawa

Governor Abdullahi Sule of state Monday, flagged off 2019 farming with the of 3,960 metric tonnes of fertilizer to across the state.

The governor said during the distributing the fertilizer in Lafia, that the fertilisers would be sold to every farmer, wants to buy and at the subsidized cost of N3,500 per bag.

The governor warned the against buying the products and selling at high rates as government will not condone the activities of such people.

He noted that his administration was working hard to encourage to go into farming through introduction of mechanized farming in the state.

Sule explained further that government will provide tractors and other implements for effective agricultural , as well as enabling environment for farming in the state.

โ€œArrangement has been intensify for the procurement of additional fertilizer for direct supply to aiming at enhancing the harvest of various crops to improve strategic food production in the state” Sule said.

He said committee had also been set up for the of the fertilizer and warned them to do the needful or held responsible for any abnormally for the of fertilizer.

The committee includes all the local government chairmen and overseers, to serve as chairmen, chairmen of traditional council of those areas, Divisional officers (DPO), representatives of the DSS, NSCDC, association, agriculture coordinators to also serve as secretary respectively.

Speaking earlier, permanent secretary ministry of agriculture and natural resources Naphtali Dachor, called on farmers to make very good use of the opportunity in order to boost food production in the state.
