Gov. Sule explains why he turns down awards

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has said he wants to remain focused hence his refusal to receive awards from various quarters.

He revealed this while playing host to the management of Blueprint on Tuesday in Lafia.

Sule said the state has numerous challenges and he do not want to be distracted by receiving many awards in just two years in office, but he accepted the nomination of the forthcoming award of Blueprint Newspapers Limited in June.

The governor also explained that as the chief executive of the state he is doing the best he could in bringing peace to the Nasarawa state.

He insisted that there are some of his colleagues that deserve such award more than him.

He said, “I think I am doing the best I can in bringing peace to Nasarawa state, likewise, some of my colleagues that are having more problems that I am having, and they are fighting more troubles that I am fighting, sometimes I think they deserved it. So these are some of the reasons why I run away from receiving awards.”

Earlier, leader of the delegation and Managing Editor Blueprint Newspaper Mr. Clem Oluwole, commended the governor for his commitment in handling the security situation in the state.

He assured him that Blueprint would continue to partner the Nasarawa state government in projecting its laudable achievements.
