Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state Saturday said the death of Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru has robbed the nation of fine military officers.
He stated this in a condolence message personally signed by him.
He condole the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari, the Chief of Defence staff, the military, family and the friends of the departed officers.
“I received the news of death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers of the Nigerian military with shock and profound sadness.
“The tragic occurrence at a time governments at all levels, the armed forces and other security apparatus are stepping up efforts to solve the country’s many challenges is most unfortunate”.
“My encounter with late Gen. Attahiru in the course of our collective efforts at tackling insecurity showed a remarkable officer dedicated to the service of Nigeria,” he said.
He however, prayed that Allah in his merciful ways will grant his soul and those of his colleagues rest.
“We pray God give their families the courage to bear this painful loss.”
