Governor urges investors, residents to take advantage of railway project

Governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun has urged investors and inhabitants of the state to take full advantage of the Lagos /Ibadan railway project which is to be commissioned on today.

The governor also added that the railway project is an opportunity for modern means transportation.

Abiodun noted this during final inspection the Lagos/ Ibadan railway project expressed excitement over the completion of the railway project and assured Nigerians that there is increase in number of train services as it will convey as many passengers as possible. 

The governor while commending President Mohammadu Buhari and the Minister of Transportation, Hon Rotimi Amaechi for ensuring the timely completion of the project described the project as world class. 

He explained that 10 stations along the rail line, five stations are located in Ogun state adding that the people of the state would benefit greatly in the project. 

On securing the railway project, the governor assured that they are working hand in hand with security operatives in the state . 

All is on top gear for the commissioning of the much awaited Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line project by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Lagos State. 

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday toured the project to see the finishing touches being put to the various stations and other facilities. 

The minister was accompanied by officials of the Ministry including Permanent Secretary,Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation , Fidel Okhiria. 

Amaechi kick-started the inspection at the Ebute-Metta-Apapa main complex where work has been completed before proceeding to the other stations and was joined at the Professor Wole Soyinka Station in Abeokuta by the Ogun State Governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun.
