Governor Yahaya mourns AY Gombe

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has expressed sadness over the demise of a front line politician and business man,   Alhaji Adamu Yaro Gombe, popularly known as AY Gombe, who died Wednesday.

This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to Journalists in Gombe by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Samaila Uba Misilin on Thursday.

The statement said, Governor Yahaya described the deceased as a strong political figure, pillar, community leader and philanthropist, who impacted positively on the lives of many.

He said late Alhaji AY Gombe’s supported and made valuable contributions to the All Progressives Congress  (APC ) in the state both in the build-up to the 2019 general election and during the transition period where he served as member of the Information and Publicity committee.

The statement reads in part: “I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the sudden demise of this respected gentleman. His death is a personal loss to me both as an ally and a good neighbor for many years. AY Gombe was indeed an exceptional man and illustrious son who contributed tremendously to the development of Gombe state and left an indelible mark in the annals of the state.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe state, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and associates over this huge loss.

“I pray Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannat Firdaus,” the statement said.

Similarly, governor Yahaya has extended his deep condolences to the family of the late Hon. Sa’idu Jaudoma and the entire people of Dukku over the demise of the former state lawmaker, praying Allah to comfort his family with the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the deceased Aljannat Firdaus.
