Governors and minimum wage

The claim by the governors as reported widely in the media recently that they were not elected only to pay salaries refers.
The governors are now talking sense through their chairperson.
What is the percentage of government workers in comparison to privately owned companies, traders, businessmen and entrepreneurs? The percentage is minute.
The governors have many other things to do for the large populace they govern like roads, health, security and many other things.
Increase in salaries of workers of which many governors are already in deficit of the current minimum wage would definitely bring untold hardship when inflation rears its ugly head of which non-government workers who are in the majority would find it difficult to cope with.
Now that the governors’ forum is saying that they are not for payment of salaries alone, the Nigeria Labour Congress that is calling for a review of the national minimum wage should take note.
