Governorship poll: Yobe youths, women assure Mai Mala of 95% votes

Youths and women in Yobe state have assured the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, Mai Mala Buni, of 95 per cent votes to consolidate on the earlier votes given to President Muhammadu Buhari during last Saturday’s presidential polls.

The Coordinator of Mai Mala Buni House-to-House Campaign organisation in the state, Mohammed Dauda Gombe, disclosed this in a chat with Blueprint correspondent on Friday while preparing for the second phase of campaign.

“We have visited thousands of houses across the local governments in the state, though the presidential election had taken much of our time, but wish to go out for the second face.

“Our main campaign will commence tomorrow Saturday and end on Wednesday insha Allahu, we  will deliver atleast 95 per cent to Mai Mala having given atleast 87 per cent to president Buhari” he said.

While congratulating President Buhari for the second term victory, he charged the president to reward the people of Geidam community whom in spite of the attack by Boko Haram on election day, came out en masse to vote for the president.

Gombe, said when the Next Level come to effect, so many things would change.

He however, urged the president and the party leaders to live up to expectations.

“There were a lots of gabs, challenges that need to be corrected in which ordinary citizens sleeping or moving in the street can enjoy the dividends of democracy”.

Blueprint gathered that the organization had also been carrying out sensitization campaigns for peaceful election, apart from canvassing votes for the party.
