Chairman of the Sickle Cells Anemia, Jigawa state chapter, Comrade Abubakar Abdullahi, has pleaded with the state government, corporate organisations, individuals as well as emirs to come to the aid of the victims in the state.
He made the appeal while speaking to our correspondent yesterday in Dutse, lamenting that the situation his members found themselves in the state was costly.

He further called on the state government to assist them through enlightenment programmes “so that people can choose partners that are free from the problem when getting married.”
The chairman urged the state government to intervene and assist them with the drugs to reduce the number of patients in the state, saying “they should be assisted with blood like their counterparts in Kano and Lagos.”
He pointed out that the sickle cell anemia was worse in the villages where the cases were leading the patients into so many problems without being assisted by anybody.
