Group backs Nasarawa speaker for second term

The Egbira National Development Association (ENDA) has advocated the need for the re-election of the Speaker of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, for second term.

President of the group, Alhaji Gani Shafa, made the call Tuesday when the group  paid a courtesy call on the speaker in Lafia.

The group said that their visit was to congratulate the speaker on his re-election as member representing Umaisha/ Ugya constituency at the state legislature.

The group stated that Balarabe- Abdullahi had done a lot in bringing the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the constituency and the state at large.

“We are proud of you. You have united the fifth assembly as well as attracted development to our constituency, Toto local government and the state at large.

“Your leadership qualities brought about the good working relationship between the executive and the legislature in the state’’, Abdullahi stated.

Responding, the speaker thanked them for the visit and for identifying with him on his re-election as member representing Umaisha/Ugya constituency.

He noted that as an ambassador of peace, he should be seen to be doing the needful in ensuring peace among members of the assembly, the executive and the state at large.  

He re-assured the Egbira community of his continued loyalty and support for his people at all times in the interest of development.
